5 ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Fails That Will Make You Hurt

By Thomas Lashier

By now, you’ve seen or been directly involved in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. This viral phenomenon has blazed through social media channels around the world in efforts to raise money to find a cure for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The concept is simple: fill up a bucket of ice and water and dump it on your head, then share the video and nominate others to do the same. If you don’t accept the chilly challenge within 24 hours, you have to donate $100.

This ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a perfect example of the power of social media in 2014. As the challenge picked up more and more attention toward the end of July and into August, the ALS Association reported an incredible increase in donations:

Almost $42 million dollars in 23 days?! That’s unreal. That’s an average of $1.826 million dollars every day during that span. And the challenge isn’t over. Social media is unrivaled when it comes to spreading awareness and creating buzz, and we are thrilled that the ALS Association has capitalized on that for a very good cause.

Now, for a few good laughs, we bring you 5 people that accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge but probably should have been more careful…

1. Super Mario

2. The Man With The Face Of Steel

3. The Concussion

4. Don’t Get Stuck

5. Slow Motion Pain

How about you? Have you completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? If so, post your video here in our comments! (And stay tuned as the Freaky Fresh founders post their video very soon!)
